Connecting students & educators to Broadway
This Omaha Performing Arts (O-pa) education program provides middle schools and high schools across Nebraska and surrounding areas with:
- In-person and virtual workshops and master classes with Broadway professionals
- Professional feedback on school theater performances
- Audition and performance opportunities
- A chance to represent Nebraska at the Broadway League’s national Jimmy Awards in New York City
- A celebration of accomplishments at a Tony Awards®-inspired showcase event hosted by O-pa
- Professional development and resources for educators
- Opportunities for free or discounted tickets to select performances
About the Program
The Nebraska High School Theater Academy (or NHSTA for short) supports, celebrates and advocates for theater education. O-pa launched the program in 2013 with just 22 schools in the Omaha area and now supports more than 85 schools and 9,000 students each year.
